Remarkable Animals: Illustrations from the award-winning book
24 July - 4 September 2004
Tony Meeuwissen is based near Stroud; he has worked as an illustrator for various publishers and has won a number of prestigious awards for his book and stamp illustrations.
Remarkable Animals was first published in 1997. Each page is divided into three flaps, giving a head, body and tail and these can be interchanged to invent all kinds of wondrous creatures. For example, you can combine a platypus, baboon and trunk fish.
The exhibition shows 18 of the original illustrations for the book and some of Tony's other work including a selection of stamps and The Key to the Kingdom playing cards.
