School Visits

The Wilson's workshops

The Learning Team offers a variety of school workshops linked in some way to our collections and exhibitions.  They last for approximately two hours, although combined with an art workshop, maybe up to three hours. The workshops consist of an introduction illustrated by a variety of artefacts, pictures and, if appropriate, clothing, followed by a hands-on session during which children undertake a variety of activities on a carousel basis, which may include object handling, drawing and dressing-up.

Workshops can be held both in The Wilson’s dedicated education space, The Foyle, and if relevant will include a visit to the galleries, or on site at school. Current costs for workshops are:

History Workshops - £75/group on-site (£60 under 20), £105/group off-site or £160 for 2 sessions
Art Workshops - £90 per session on-site (£75 for groups of under 20). On-site only.
(Cancellation policy – if a school cancels less than 24 hours in advance there will be a £20 fee).
